Billing your customers

As a Managed Service Provider (MSP), you bill your own customers for the Conduit usage you resell to them. This guide covers the setup: your billing identity and each customer’s rate, plus where the invoices you send will appear.

Three things called “billing” — which is which

Section titled “Three things called “billing” — which is which”

Conduit has three billing-related areas. They are separate, and it is easy to confuse them:

Area What it is Covered by
Billing profile Your legal entity — the “from” party on the invoices you send your customers. This guide
Billing & Plans Your own Conduit subscription — what you pay Wyre. Billing & Plans

This guide is only about the first one: setting up how you bill your customers.

Do this first. Your billing profile is your legal entity — it appears as the issuing party on every invoice you send a customer. Until you set it, you cannot issue invoices to any customer, and each customer’s billing area shows a banner prompting you to configure it.

Open Billing profile in your MSP organization’s settings and fill in the form:

Field Required Notes
Legal entity name Yes Your registered business name, as it should appear on invoices.
Address line 1 Yes
Address line 2 No
City Yes
State / region No Leave blank if your jurisdiction has no state or region.
Postal code Yes
Country Yes Two-letter ISO code — for example, US, GB, CA, AU.
Tax ID No VAT, EIN, ABN, and similar. Shown on the invoice when set.
Billing contact email Yes Where customers send billing questions. Appears on the invoice.

Select Save billing profile. You can come back and edit these details at any time; the current values are prefilled when you return.

Open Customers, select a customer, and go to the Billing tab. Under Pricing, choose a pricing mode:

  • Percentage markup — a percentage added on top of the customer’s base cost. Enter the figure in Markup percentage (%).
  • Fixed price per seat — a flat monthly amount per seat. Enter it in Price per seat (USD / month).

Select Save rate. The current rate is then shown at the top of the Billing tab; saving a new rate replaces it. Set a rate for each customer you bill.

If you have not set your billing profile yet, the Billing tab shows a banner linking you to set it up first (step 1).

Each customer’s Billing tab has an Invoices section. Today it shows:

Invoices generated for <customer> will appear here.

That is expected — invoice generation is a later update. Once it ships, the invoices you generate for a customer appear in this list, and you open each one as a document you can deliver to the customer.

  • It does not generate invoices yet. Generation is a later update. The invoices area is ready but empty until then.
  • It does not collect payment. Conduit does not charge your customers. You settle through your existing arrangement; the invoice is a document you send, not a payment page.
