How MSPs Are Adding AI to Autotask, ConnectWise, and HaloPSA

MSPs are adding AI to their PSAs by connecting them to MCP-capable AI clients (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or whichever your team uses) through an MCP gateway. The gateway handles authentication, permissions, and access control, so your AI can log in, look up ticket data, and take real actions inside your PSA without a custom integration.

This works today for Autotask, ConnectWise PSA, and HaloPSA. Each one has a live MCP integration through Conduit, which means the wiring is already done. What's left is deciding which workflows you want to run first.

What AI in Autotask Looks Like

Autotask has one of the deepest MCP integrations in Conduit's library, with 15 skills spanning tickets, contracts, projects, CRM, and billing. In practice, that means your team can ask an AI things like:

None of those require a custom script, a dedicated Autotask developer, or an API project. They're prompts. The MCP layer handles the translation between what you asked and what Autotask needs to hear.

The overnight triage example is worth flagging specifically. When it's set up as a scheduled agent, it runs on its own every hour, tags priorities in the queue, and posts a summary to Slack. Your team walks in Monday morning to a queue that's already sorted.

What AI in ConnectWise PSA Looks Like

ConnectWise PSA (also known as ConnectWise Manage) covers the same core surface: service tickets, agreements, projects, and billing. The MCP integration means the same kinds of questions work here too:

One thing MSPs often notice within their first week: the questions their team asks the AI reveal which reports were painful enough that people just stopped running them. When "show me the numbers on X" takes 10 seconds instead of an hour, the reports start happening again.

What AI in HaloPSA Looks Like

HaloPSA has been one of the fastest-moving PSAs in the MSP space, and its MCP integration through Conduit reflects that. Tickets, clients, assets, and invoicing are all reachable from your AI client.

Some things HaloPSA users have been asking their AI:

If you're a HaloPSA shop, the Conduit integration is listed on Halo's own integrations page. That listing is one of Conduit's highest-quality inbound signals, which tends to mean HaloPSA users find the setup path faster than most.

What's the Same Across All Three

Regardless of which PSA you're running, three things stay consistent:

Where to Start

The best first workflow is almost always the one you already dread doing manually. For most MSPs, that's morning ticket triage. It happens every day, it eats time, and the shape of the work is predictable enough that AI can handle the first pass while your techs handle the calls that need actual human judgment.

Once triage is running, the next natural steps tend to be QBR prep (pulling data from your PSA plus your RMM and security stack into a client-ready pack) and contract renewal tracking (surfacing renewals before they slip). Both are covered.
